Cold Weather
Park City, Utah
Calling all extreme winter sports enthusiasts! Park City is the perfect destination to quench your thirst for adventure from December to March.
Main draw in winter: The snow-covered slopes are at the ready for snowboarding, cross country skiing, bobsledding, tubing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and more.
Winter climate: Colder with highs in the 30’s and lows in the teens. Half of the annual 150 inches of snow falls during these months which makes for great conditions on the mountains!
What to do in winter:
- Hit the slopes at Deer Valley and Park City ski resorts. (Note: No snowboarders allowed at Deer Valley, making it more family-friendly)
- Wander around the Main Historic District.and visit a variety of bookshops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and bars.
- Ride a bobsled at the Utah Olympic Park, the site of the 2002 winter Olympics.
- In January, celebrate independent film and theater artists at the famous Sundance Film Festival.
Quebec City, Canada
Previously hidden in the shadows of its sister city, Montréal, Quebec City is a charming town that has made its presence known over recent years. You can’t help but be captivated by this this French-inspired city, featuring luxurious fortresses and castles around every turn.
Main draw in winter: The city looks gorgeous covered in a pure white blanket and decked out for the holidays. Horse-drawn carriages add to the romantic appeal.
Winter climate: Cold with temperatures dropping as low as the single digits at night. But worth braving it for the beauty.
What to do in winter:
- Wander the cobblestone pathways of Old Québec, situated along the city’s harbor.
- In February, attend one of the largest winter festivals in the world, Carnaval de Québec, featuring parades, a masquerade ball, outdoor public banquets and so much more.
- Visit the ornately beautiful Notre-Dame-de-Québec Basilica and Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre.
- Check out La Citadelle, the largest British-built fortress in North America which is still used by the military today.
Breckenridge, Colorado
Another great mountain escape, tucked in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Breckenridge retains the same Victorian-era charm it did during the gold rush.
Main draw in winter: Boasting 300+ days of sunshine, Breckenridge winters are some of the best in the USA. There is also fun stuff to do beyond the slopes!
Winter climate: Cold with temperatures barely breaking 30 degrees and dropping to the single digits at night. But the prime months for snowfall, up to 200 feet!
What to do in winter:
- Skiing or snowboarding at Breckenridge Ski Resort., cross-country skiing or snowshoeing at the Nordic Ski Center, or hiking along Boreas Pass Road.
- Sledding at the best snow-covered hill in town at Carter Park. (Fun for all ages!)
- In January, attend the International Snow Sculpture Championships and Ullr Fest.
- Day trip to Vail or Denver, quick 40 and 80 mile drives respectively.
Warm Weather
Phuket, Thailand
Enjoy gorgeous blue waters, flavorful cuisine and some of the friendliest locals...all at a super low price tag! This is Phuket in a nutshell.
Main draw in winter: Escaping the cold for warm weather and beaches galore. The waters are the most calm at this time since it’s outside of monsoon season.
Winter climate: Comfortable with highs in the 80’s and lows in the 70’s.
What to do in Winter:
- Sail around the Phi Phi Islands and stop at the famous “James Bond Island.”
- Watch the sunset at Promthep Cape with amazing views of the Andaman Sea.

Singapore

Belize City, Belize
